Marine Duplication

Marine Duplication is a mixed media project of design and photographs of washed-up marine life and seaweed from the beaches around Nova Scotia. I am in awe of the destruction, and the evolution tides bring to the shores and their ecosystems. The everchanging waves that bring in new marine debris only to be taken back into the ocean at high tide, strange forms and relentless repeated lines, often mangled and deformed by the breaking waves.

THIS ONGOING SERIES STARTS WITH THE DELICATE MARINE LIFE WASHED UP ON THE SHORE, CREATING INTRICATE PATTERNS AND UNIQUE DESIGNS IN A SURPRISING WAY. PRINTS ARE CREATED WITHIN PATTERNS, COMBINING TEXTURES FROM SEAWEED, SEA SAND AND MARINE LIFE.
